Anna Lomax born and based in London, with a dedicated following in the wonderful realms of the Tokyo art scene, Lomax has used her time studying illustration at Brighton University more than wisely, generating work with an edge of wacky fabulousness. This artful eccentricity doesn’t faze Lomax, it being her point of difference in a market where difference means survival.
Fascinated by the bizarre, modern culture and folk art, Lomax’s gravitation towards all things fantastically peculiar is translated and injected into her work through colour, movement and scale as suggestive as it is restrained. Using materials, locations and subjects that diversify the confined walls of the conservative mind, it’s little wonder as to why Lomax has launched her creative hooks into many and varied current design forces. With Topshop, Selfridges, House of Holland and Nike counting themselves on Lomax’s list of clients and collaborations, Lomax is proving herself to be another force in the industry. And with ties to print giants AnOther, Vice and Wonderland Magazine’s, not to mention fashion’s almighty Viewpoint, Lomax and her wackily wonderful productions are going to be a mainstay on the creative stage.
